Jennings County opened up the season with a 71-62 loss to Columbus North last night at JCHS. The game was tied at half time and the Panthers trailed 42-41 going into the 4th quarter but the Bulldogs took advantage at the free throw line to pull away for the win. Keegan Manowitz led the Panthers with 17 points and 7 assists. Carson McNulty scored 14 and Jacob Vogel pulled down 15 rebounds. North’s Blake Barker led all scorers with 24 points.
In JV action, the Panthers lost a barn burner in overtime 60-56. Scoring for Jennings County was Cole Sigler 20, Justin Ramey 10, Matt Hines 9, Darius Thomas 7, Logan McIntosh 5, and Skyler Lewis 5.
The Jennings County freshmen team lost by 12.
Next game for the Panthers will be on Saturday, December 5 at home against Rock Creek. JV starts at 6pm.J.
