The Jennings County Panthers hosted the Brownstown Central Braves on Wednesday night. Taking on a talented 12-4 Brownstown squad, the Panthers used a dominant first-half performance to gain control, earning an impressive 57-44 victory. A dominant first quarter set the tone for the Panthers. Jennings County raced out to a double-digit lead early, fueled by Johnny Elkins, who poured in 11 points in the opening quarter. The fast start gave the Panthers a commanding 20-9 advantage heading into the second quarter. The Panthers stretched their lead to as many as 16 points in the second quarter, continuing to control the pace on both ends of the floor. A lockdown defensive performance limited Brownstown to just 17 first-half points, sending the Panthers into the locker room with a commanding 31-17 advantage at the break. The second half went smoothly, as the Panthers maintained a comfortable double-digit cushion throughout. Jennings County carried a 41-30 lead into the fourth quarter and stayed in control down the stretch, closing out a decisive 57-44 victory over Brownstown. The Panthers were led by Johnny Elkins, who delivered a standout 20-point performance. Cash Millspaugh and Jerry Davis also reached double figures, adding 13 and 11 points, respectively.
