JCHS tennis dropped the final match of the season to Greensburg. As with the regular season loss, this loss in the sectional finals came by the score of 4-1. The #1 doubles team of Jacob Vogel (11) and Justin Ramey (10) took home the lone win for the Panthers with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Sam Bower (12) and Abe Tebbe (10). This win, along with the win against Madison Wednesday, secures Justin and Jacob’s spot in the individual doubles portion of the state tournament starting next week in Bloomington (North). Owen Law (10) played an outstanding match at #1 singles but was unable to win enough of the big points and fell to Brett Stringer (12) 6-4, 6-2. Although the score doesn’t necessarily reflect the competitive games of the two matches, Greensburg won the final two singles spots by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 in #2 and #3 singles, respectively. Greensburg win at the #2 doubles spot was assisted by poor play and self-inflicted errors by their Panther counter parts.
